Short-Barreled Rifle (SBR)

A shoulder-stocked rifle having a barrel less than 16" (as measured from the face of a closed bolt to the end of the permanent muzzle) or an overall length less than 26".  Also included are certain pistols that accept detachable shoulder stocks.  Antique guns and some guns listed on the Federal Curios & Relics list may be exempted from registration.  Full automatic variants are not considered SBRs and are registered as machine guns.

The Federal Transfer tax on any SBR is $200.

Fully Automatic

Any firearm that fires more than one bullet at a time with each pull of the trigger.  Because their method of operation already places them in the NFA classification, the configuration of the stock, barrel, bayonet lug, and flash hider is not restricted.  If a suppressor is permanently attached to the machine gun, it too is considered a part of the gun and not subject to a separate tax.   Machine guns range in size from small .22 caliber pistols such as the Mexican Trajoe up to the .50 caliber Browning M-2 heavy machine gun.

The Federal Transfer tax on a machine gun is $200.

Please Note: There are 2 general classes of Class 3 (or NFA) weapons: Transferrables, and Restricted Items (Dealer Samples).  Transferrables may be owned by civilians in most states.   Dealer Samples or Restricted guns may only be owned by Class 3 gun dealers or law enforcement and government agencies. Many newer machineguns are NOT able to be owned by civilians, only those that were manufactured and registered prior to May of 1986 are considered transferrable.

ALL NFA (National Firearms Act 1934) RULES APPLY!!!

To the best of our knowledge, silencers are legal for private ownership in the following states: AL, AR, AK, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MD, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY. Additionally, they maybe owned by Class 3 dealers and Class 2 manufacturers (but not individuals) in: CA, IA, KS, MA, MO, and MI. Territorial law prohibits possession in the Territories and Possessions of the United States. There are no known restrictions on governmental ownership. If your state is not listed, check with your local office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms or your state's Attorney General. If they are not legal in your state of residence, we cannot sell to you.
Please do not ask us to violate state or federal law.
